A cylindrical base accommodates the light source, concealing it while supporting the blown glass diffuser. The blown milk glass with plate-glass shading makes it possible to achieve a soft light on the work surface or the wall and a higher-performing light towards the room.
While the air bubbles in the glass dome of the IRIS luminaire, created by designer Sebastian Herkner, are reminiscent of underwater worlds,unlike the portable version, the on/off switch is protruding and has a knurled rotary knob. The diamond knurling gives this a tactile touch and breaks up the clean design of the aluminium base.
