As a master in architecture, the Japanese, Ito has proposed few but extraordinary design works. Suki armchair, designed in 1987, is one of them: an object made mysterious by the use of a double steel mesh row intersected by many springs. Anapo’s collection of tables, in the rectangular and circular version and in different sizes including a side table. Its inspiration lies in the Sixties and in a specific idea of middle-class home torn between rigour and softness, luxury and functionality, indifferent to passing fads.
Very lucidly, Enzo Mari decided to realize this tables collection with transparent crystal tops in order to valorise the harsh simplicity of steel sections bases. Designed in 1973 for Driade, uninterruptedly producted since then, these pieces can be certainly numbered among the most successful of the Milan master.
Born out of the fascination by those big rattan or cane armchair so common in South East Asia, Patricia Urquiola creates her own sophisticated rendition.Volumes expand, braids are doubled, patterns appear unexpectedly and gracefully fragmented. The Pavo collection introduces a strong exotic connotation.
