As a master in architecture, the Japanese, Ito has proposed few but extraordinary design works. Suki armchair, designed in 1987, is one of them: an object made mysterious by the use of a double steel mesh row intersected by many springs. The Unnia SOFT collection originates in the combination of comfortable seats and upholstered backrests, with or without arms, with fixed or swivel bases. In keeping with the same philosophy applied to the rest of the Unnia family, seats and backrests can be combined with one or two fabrics to create original combinations.
Soft, enveloping shapes characterize this family of upholstered pieces. Julep is influenced by the 1950s Avant-Garde movement, drawing upon its simplicity and grandeur, refined by a contemporary, romantic, feminine allure.
