Chandeliers were made from iron and wood. Over time, crystal, Murano glass, and pendants have enhanced the glow of candlelight, illuminating castles, grand residences, operas, and prestigious museums. And at the start of the 20th century, the first electric chandelier was built by J&L Lobmeyr in Austria, working with Thomas Edison, (who was born in Milan, but not that one, the one in Ohio, USA). 2025 Lampe C by Thierry Dreyfus. The form and the outline are the same as that of the most classic of chandeliers and this ‘chandelier in chains’, exceptional in every way, perpetuates the magic that light, at its most beautiful, can weave. With no glass and no crystal, the light bounces off the 6400 stainless steel links, to create a myriad of light droplets.
