Designed by Vico Magistretti
For many years now, Atollo has no longer been a lamp, or rather, it has no longer been just a lamp. It has become a myth, an icon: one of the best know symbols of Italian design wordwide, one of the very few products which people recognise and call with its own name. Designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977, it was awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and became, since then, part of the permanent collections of the world’s major museum of design, as well as part of the furniture of many homes of those who love and are able to select the things surrounding them. Atollo’s secret probably lies in the geometrical construction of its shapes: the cone on the cylinder and the semisphere above all. A luminous sculpture from which nothing can be removed to which nothing can be added. And which nothing can copy.

Designed by Le Corbusier in 1963 for the Parliament in Chandigarh in India, Parliament is a symbol of 1950s modernism, inspired by the industrial lighting of the time. The adjustable diffuser consists of two open symmetrical cones for direct and indirect lighting. The finishes reflect the ?claviers de couleurs? colour system developed by the Swiss-French […]

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican ‘Toba volcanica’ stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement. The contrast between porous textures […]

With the Bellevue Lamp, Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen embodies the minimalism of the Modernist Movement with the functionalism of Bauhaus. Viewed as the driving force behind Danish Modernism, Jacobsen?s preference for graceful lines and simple, organic forms are readily recognisable in the Bellevue lamp.
