Designed by John Astbury
The Coupe Stool and Barstool began as a naive sketch: a single vertical line met by three horizontals, inspired by the reduced silhouettes of classic cocktail glasses and champagne coupes. While the forms are unapologetically simple, Coupe maintains a distinct character. Its identity is defined by a strong materiality and clarity of form that gives the design a significant presence in any room. Despite the solid feel and volume, the precise proportions and balanced geometry achieve a lightness of touch, making the overall aesthetic one of a balanced, classic silhouette.

A throwback to mid-century modern? Not quite. Extreme proportions lend themselves to an elegant and surprising form in this update to an old classic. The smooth, yet decisive, shift between slim and solid, which creates the Bukowski chair?s curvaceous legs, is played out like a lively dance with the material. Meanwhile the balance of the […]

Kite is a work of proportion and abstraction, blending pure and geometric silhouettes with smooth, textured materiality. The same structural elements are adapted into three different sizes, each echoing the other like a tale that alters subtly with each retelling. Delicate taping contours the silhouettes, a technical refinement that enriches depth and contrast. Whether displayed […]
