Designed by Bernard Schottlander
As admirer of Alexander Calder, in 1951 Schottlander created the Mantis series of lamps. Movement is intrinsic to all of Schottlander’s work: an artist, an engineer and in no small measure a handyman, he devised a clever system of counterweights combined with a series of strong, and flexible metal bars. The shade also is unique of its kind. Like an acrobat suspended in mid-air, it is made from aluminium using spinning and chasing techniques that are a part of the metalworker???Ǩ?Ѣs inventory of skills, but to which he has brought his sculptor???Ǩ?Ѣs eye to create a helical movement in which the symmetrical and the asymmetrical are in opposition.
Finishes:
Adjustable shade and stem, structure in steel and shade in aluminium in black
Dimensions:
W690-1080 x D740 x H1550-1700 mm

11W, E14

Fresnel is a lamp created by Joe Colombo with the intention of appearing to be one of those perfect objects, that cannot be improved any further because it has been designed by time, capable of making essentiality and practicality synonyms of elegance. The Fresnel 10 cm-diameter lens becomes the absolute protagonist of this project, different […]

Showcasing a soft, inviting character, the RFH Lounge Chair follows the same design principles as the RFH Armchair. Small in footprint, part of the chair’s charm lies in its low and compact form, offering a lounge piece with a striking silhouette that can be placed in the most modest of spaces.
