The reflective surface is also available with a frosted finish that draws an horizon line, playing with light and proportions. Inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of design and furniture craftmanship, In Between is a result of Sami KallioÕs solid grounding in traditional wood- working techniques and his eye for ingenious detail. It started with a single chair which later resulted in a series of furniture including both tables and chairs.
Even a classical image, as a railed chair, in the hands of Philippe Starck acquires a particular connotation. In Pip-e, the sequence of horizontal elements, which create the seat and back definetly, takes on a strong chiaroscuro and goes, unexpectedly, to accompany the bending of the knees.
