Horizon mirror is bordered by an aluminium frame characterized by a thin moulding at the edge. The reflective surface is also available with a frosted finish that draws an horizon line, playing with light and proportions. The chair, inspired by a model from 1930 by Josef Hoffmann, blends his interest in Art Nouveau and simple shapes with manufacturing processes applied in Bystrice pod Hostynem since 1861. The armchair is therefore more geometrical, but bears the clear features of the manual bending technique of TON.
This project is born from the wish to recover rattan as a fine material and reclaim Spain?s rich craftsmanship tradition. Oscar Tusquets tries to give a new look to an ancient technique replacing the brackets and bonds traditionally used as connecting elements by the twinning of one cane to the next.
