The Karl-Johan Table Lamp is inspired by excursions into nature. A search for wild mushrooms. The tones of an autumn forest. The result is a poetic piece, a combination of tone and texture, dark and light.
While the air bubbles in the glass dome of the IRIS luminaire, created by designer Sebastian Herkner, are reminiscent of underwater worlds,unlike the portable version, the on/off switch is protruding and has a knurled rotary knob. The diamond knurling gives this a tactile touch and breaks up the clean design of the aluminium base.
