It may be difficult to imagine how such a supple material like the rattan used to shape the base can support the weight of the wooden tops, but the fact is rattan is actually strong. The project thus intertwines the two raw materials characterizing Expormim?s identity.

If there is something that defines the Kotai table collection, it is precisely its soundness, as its own Japanese name denotes. The ceramic or lacquered glass top of Toronto table is supported by a wooden base. The legs with the special “V” profile give a lively visual sense of lightness, while maintaining the solidity and strong presence of the overall structure.
