This project is born from the wish to recover rattan as a fine material and reclaim Spain?s rich craftsmanship tradition. Oscar Tusquets tries to give a new look to an ancient technique replacing the brackets and bonds traditionally used as connecting elements by the twinning of one cane to the next.

Archetypal shapes in architectural geometry inspire these historical masterpieces._ Designed by the great contemporary architect from the Ticino canton for the interiors of some of his famous buildings, they have become classics in the Alias catalogue, icons of design made in Italy. Main features are the seats seconda, in perforated sheet steel.
The Doodle concept lies in a unique stitching design. A family of organically shaped seating furniture dressed with a padded removable cover. The irregular pattern follows the silhouette of the seat and meanders inwards towards the centre.
Even a classical image, as a railed chair, in the hands of Philippe Starck acquires a particular connotation. In Pip-e, the sequence of horizontal elements, which create the seat and back definetly, takes on a strong chiaroscuro and goes, unexpectedly, to accompany the bending of the knees.
Kat dining chair is a well-crafted and utilitarian design. The round edges and corners on the solid wood leg contribute a soft and quiet feel. The visible dark grey epoxy metal screws and rails add a touch of elegance. It’s a chair that does not call for attention but attracts you anyway.
