Designed by Sebastian Summa
Between eloquent laconism and sophisticated brutalism, illuminated like an electro-constructivist Kraftwerk clip, the collaboration between DCW ?ditions and Sebastian Summa has been expanded with a new ceiling benchmark : the magnificent NL12 suspension. Designed to illuminate a large dining room table, this light cleverly fitted with an eye-deceiving device, is composed of twelve borosilicate glass tubes. Only one of these tubes functions as a central unit and is a light source, the other tubes relaying its diffusion by refraction and prism. With no visible wire, no visible LEDs and no visible aluminium structure, the NL 12 evokes a celestial beam that is both radical and poetic. Wielding his aesthetic prowess, Sebastian Summa conceived, to hang it from the ceiling, a pair of brackets similar to gymnastics clamps designed to balance the bundle of tubes perfectly. This fixed piece of equipment adds a post-industrial athletic touch to the set and indicates an obviously artisanal tour de force.

Movement is intrinsic to all of Schottlander’s work: an artist, an engineer and in no small measure a handyman, he devised a clever system of counterweights combined with a series of strong, and flexible metal bars. The shade also is unique […]

Buoy mark safe waters and guide sailors both day and night. When lit, their flickering lights in the distance signify a safe harbor, safely guiding a voyage through unknown territory. Similarly, the new Buoy Collection outlines a harbor of light in an interior.

Like distant stars, these seemingly small lighted objects impress with both their design and craft. The light source is placed within a mouth-blown piece, shining from the center of a precisely cut crystal star. This Bomma collection is characterized by combining seemingly incompatible contrasts ? light and darkness in an exact vision of the creator […]

The main feature of the Waldorf Collection combines an open hemispherical shade with a cylindrical socket cover. This composite shade is deployed in suspension and wall-mounted configurations with natural brass and powder coated rods. Swivelling shades and other moving parts add functional flexibility to the crisp, streamlined forms of this collection.
