Fredrikson stallard’s work often exudes an energy like that of abstract expressionism, a forcing by the artists hand or a chaos within the materials and forms themselves, albeit an organized chaos. In Sereno they have used similar themes, methods and language to instead create a moment of calm and solitude. The forms themselves are created from shards of glass violently created by the artists, but they become unified in utter stillness by the inclusion of a simple flat sheet and the transformation of the group into polished stainless steel. This brings a reflection of the three unified elements in the surface, creating another of Fredrikson Stallard’s recurring themes, Rorschach like symmetrical forms. This even further delivers their nature from turmoil to serenity – they resolve themselves through the reorganization of symmetry.

Camouflage is an outdoor collection that includes a high and low armchair, a table and small table, all made of aluminium. in these sculptured elements the geometrical design of the structure frames the elaborated fretworked decoration.
Antonia Astori calls ‘memory furniture’ those pieces which tell something about people attention to indoor living. An attention expressed both by the recovery of disappeared archetypes, eg. canopy bed, and in precious materials manufacturing, eg. pleached roped steel headboard.
Characterized by the embracing shell and stiletto legs, Lago is enhanced by it’s intensifying bright colors that deliberately smooth the entire surface.
Neoz sofas, bed and day-bed emphasize the formal charateristics of the collection they belong to, by building a sort of living nest marked by the hem-stitched tissue whiteness, like past laundry, and the cushions’ softness. Large wheels, though, suggest it as an only termporary luxe.
A table that plays on an apparent imbalance, supporting a strongly materic top, especially in the version, by a sequence of three structures placed in a totally unpredictable way.
