Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka
Where do you think mermaids would seat, into the blue, while rolling up their long tails? Certainly not on rationalist thrones or minimalist stools, perhaps on ancient rocks shaped by the sea. To this fantasy world seems inspired Tokujin Yoshioka – names of objects are never random – by building a seat as a mysterious river bed. At the base a large hollowed fold to fold legs (or tails, for sirens), on the back a double sinuous fold to rest arms.

The sofa, the armchair and especially the chaise longue and the stool, forget the banality of rotational molding to become sculptures. Unforgettable and unusual shapes.
Characterized by the embracing shell and stiletto legs, Lago is enhanced by it’s intensifying bright colors that deliberately smooth the entire surface.
SYSTEM is a project born from a very simple sign. A rhomboidal and rounded section creates an ideal line for the design of a family of tables and benches, with a light and soft presence. System is a modular and varied program of different heights and dimensions. The purity of the leg section is combined […]
Even a coffee table can become a piece of art if it can stand regardless of the typological limitations. Fredrikson Stallard address the issue with the strength of the material to be bent and shaped. The result is a completely new form, marked by an important, and expressionistic, depression in the center of the top.
“MT”, or the initials that calls these pieces designed by Ron Arad, are pronounced in English as “empty”. The void is the key element of this project. The volume, made through a rotational molding, is in fact carved and shows provocatively the inside, finished in different colors. From the typological point of view also worth […]
