Frames has written a happy new chapter for an already old story, the same old tale of craft and tradition but within a new framework of clever design that takes advantage of a different, more joyous approach to the material. The narrative of design brings traditional outdoor furniture to the inside, adding a layer of glamour to the rustic charm of the material. What was once just a seasonal story can now be told all year round.

Inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of design and furniture craftmanship, In Between is a result of Sami Kallio?s solid grounding in traditional wood- working techniques and his eye for ingenious detail. It started with a single chair which later resulted in a series of furniture including both tables and chairs.
Created to hold books in place, the abstract forms of the Converge Book Ends are shaped from lava stone ? a dark and porous material with a textured surface. Use as intended, one at either side of a line of books, or interlock together to create a functional sculpture.
